Advanced Diploma in Logistics and Supply Management

Course Objective

This course equips students with the strategy of downstream supply chain management for a managerial role in an organisation. The specialised advanced diploma programme covers two knowledge modules and a Management Project module. The two knowledge modules are Logistics Strategy and Supply Chain Strategy. The Management Project will guide students to undertake a project on an emerging trend that will affect the strategy of logistics and supply chain management.

Delivery and Assessment

The advanced diploma in logistics and supply management programme incorporates blended learning mode, where students attend class lectures, as well as undertake self-directed learning through optional online videos. Faculty members are highly experienced practitioners with postgraduate academic and professional qualifications.

The Management Project module requires students to attend regular class sessions so that they can be closely guided to complete the projects within the study period. Students are expected to make use of relevant websites for purposes of learning and research. Upon completion of each knowledge module, students will sit for the examination. As for the module on Management Project, each student is assessed on a major assignment, a minor assignment, and a short presentation.

Course Duration and Frequency

This course can be completed within 6 months. The logistics and supply management course is scheduled to commence in the months of January, April, July and October, but this may subject to changes. Please check with the institute on the actual date of commencement.

The lecture timings for the part-time classes are shown in the table below:

Time : Weekdays evening 7pm to 10pm
Frequency : 1 to 2 times per week
Venue : Trade Association Hub (TA Hub)

Admission Requirements

An applicant must be at least 25 years old, have at least 5 years of relevant work experience, and have a qualification not lower than a Bachelor degree recognised by SIPMM. Those with SIPMM Diploma can be considered. Applicants are advised that this is a leadership level course, and the stated criteria are consideration for admission approval. All applications are subject to approval by the Academic Board.

Academic Award

Students must pass all modules to complete the course successfully and to be awarded the Advanced Diploma in Logistics and Supply Management (ADLSM). When a student receives a minimum score of 80% for the online module examination, the student will also receive a digital Certificate of Competency for the specific topic.
