Diploma in Procurement and Supply Management

Course Objective

This course equips students with sound knowledge and industry practices of contemporary procurement and supply chain management at a supervisory management level in an organisation. The specialised diploma programme covers key topics in two knowledge modules and a Research Project module. The two knowledge modules are Purchasing Management, and Warehouse Management. The Research Project will guide students to undertake a project on best practices in procurement and supply chain management.

Delivery and Assessment

The programmes on diploma in procurement and supply management incorporates blended learning mode, where students attend class lectures, as well as undertake self-directed learning through optional online videos. Faculty members are highly experienced practitioners with postgraduate academic and professional qualifications.

The Research Project module requires students to attend regular class sessions so that they can be closely guided to complete the projects within the study period. Students are expected to make use of relevant websites for purposes of learning and research. Upon completion of each knowledge module, students will sit for the examination. As for the Research Project module, each student is assessed on a major assignment, a minor assignment, and a short presentation.

Course Duration and Frequency

The part time course on diploma in procurement and supply management can be completed within 6 months. This course is scheduled to commence in the months of March, June, September and December, but this may subject to changes. Please check with the institute on the actual date of commencement.

The lecture timings for the part-time classes are shown below:

Time : Weekdays evening 7pm to 10pm
Frequency : 1 to 2 classes per week
Venue : Singapore Institute of Purchasing and Materials Management

Admission Requirements

An applicant must be at least 25 years old, have at least 3 years of relevant work experience, and have a qualification not lower than a Diploma recognised by SIPMM. Those who do not meet the criteria but have the SIPMM Executive Certificate are eligible for admission.

Academic Award and Recognition

Students must pass all module assessments to complete the course successfully, and be awarded the Diploma in Procurement and Supply Management (DPSM). The DPSM graduate is eligible to apply for the practitioner credential as World Accredited Practitioner in Procurement and Supply Management, and this professional credential is awarded by World Certification Institute (WCI).
