Mr. Mohamed Hardi Bin Abdullah

Valedictory Speech given during 2017 Graduation Ceremony

Good afternoon,

It is an utmost honour for me to deliver the valedictorian speech today. It will be one of the most memorable days for me all my life. I am pretty sure all of us have some really wonderful experiences with SIPMM. The effort and hard work that we had put in, throughout our learning journey, juggling with our work, families & studies all at the same time has finally paid off, and today, we are here together as proud graduates of SIPMM of 2017.

Time really passed in the blink of an eye. I can still see myself as that student on the first day, greeted with a big cheerful smile by the Course Manager. SIPMM have made me competent enough to stand here in front of so many honorable guests. All the knowledge instilled in us by our lecturers with their knowledge and experience throughout this journey would surely prove to be valuable to us in our future references.

At this point, I would like to express my utmost gratitude to Professor Philip Poh, not only for his guidance in completing projects, but also tapping on my inner strength & capabilities which I, myself am not aware. He also has given me advice & direction for me to move forward in my career, and for that, I am extremely thankful to Professor Philip Poh.

I am deeply honoured that my Employer, Katoen Natie (Jurong Island) for the encouragement & their support for me to pursue further with my studies. Katoen Natie not only developed me in my career, but their encouragement & guidance thru my employment had really make a great difference in my career life, the same strong motto of our Company, “Our People Make the Difference”. Today, my colleagues are here to grace this wonderful event despite their busy schedule – Ms Pui Piin Rong, Mr Chua Yu Xiang & Mr Manazil Mohammed.

There is this saying, “Behind a successful man, there is a woman behind them”. But for me, I’m lucky to have more than just one woman. Firstly, a BIG THANK YOU to my mum and sister, Mdm Asmah & Miss Salena for their blessing & prayers while I was studying. A very special gratitude dedicated to my wife, Azlina, for being so supportive during these period of my study & looking after my two daughters while I’m busy juggling my work & studies or whenever on my “mood swings” when I’m studying for my exams or working on my projects. For my two daughters, Larisha & Lashirah, they are my pillar of strength that keeps me going whenever there are setbacks along the way. Nevertheless, I believe that all of our families’ members play a vital role in each and every one of us in determining our success today.

My Fellow Graduates,

All of us had different backgrounds when we came to SIPMM. We meet new friends & increase in our networking along the way. But today, we are leaving as the proud students of the same institute with a common goal, to be successful in our career. All of us are gearing up for the next phase of our life with passion, perseverance and dedication to make it big in the time to come. I would like to congratulate again to all my fellow graduands on finishing their respective diploma courses. It is surely a great accomplishment and something in which all of us can take pride.

Today, we are leaving with even bigger ambitions.

Congratulations again to all graduates of 2017.

Thank you.
