Good afternoon,
My name is Kenny Tan, and I am honoured to be representing the June 2024 intake for the Diploma in Procurement and Supply Management.
I shall start off with a quote I deeply resonate with, it is from the ancient Greek philosopher Heraclitus: “The Only Constant in Life Is Change.” This is especially prominent in the working society of Singapore. We have to constantly upgrade our skills, our qualifications to stay ahead in the game. I am honoured to have such like-minded course mates undertaking this Diploma with me.
The closure of a chapter in our lives often calls for some reflection. This journey hasn’t always been smooth sailing. We all had countless late nights for lectures and meeting project deadlines, and that is after a day of trying to make our bosses happy. Without any doubt, one of the most memorable moments for us would be the color code banding by Professor Poh. All of us had to put in our tears and sweat to gain the prized green code and finally the maroon code from our keen eyed Professor Poh. Despite the hard work, the project nevertheless really fostered better teamwork and closer friendship between us.
On that note, on behalf of the graduating cohort of 2025, I shall extend our heartfelt gratitude to Professor Poh. Professor Poh, your unique teaching style has helped us grow both academically and personally, the lessons we learnt from you are ones we definitely will not forget in the near future. Your dedication to your students is truly inspirational.
I would also like to thank Mr Alex Loo and Nick Lai for their unwavering support and encouragement. Your openness in sharing your industry experiences with us was invaluable in helping us apply the knowledge we learnt to our work. We will miss those engaging classes from you.
To our families and friends, this journey would not be possible without your unwavering support and understanding. You are the reason and our motivation for us to strive for a better future together. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank my wife, you are truly the strictest English teacher I have ever met, but luckily you make it up by being such a fantastic videographer.
I shall close with another quote by Gandhi, “Be the change that you wish to see in the world!”
Congratulations to the graduating class of 2025!
Thank you
