Good afternoon
It is of great honour for me to be with all, to deliver the Valedictorian speech. Today marks a very special and one of the most memorable occasion for all of us. With sheer determination, hard work and perseverance, we are now proud graduates of SIPMM. Our success is also the fruits of labour from our lecturers Professor Poh, Mr Wong, Mr Choo, Mr Loo and Mr Tan. They have enlightened us throughout the learning journey with sharing of their valuable knowledge, professional expertise and insights on today’s challenges and tomorrow’s expectations in the business world.
We are also fortunate to have the SIPMM Administration Team working hard behind the scenes for all the students to revitalize our learning experience in a very welcoming and conducive environment. SIPMM has been around since 1972 and has helped countless individuals like us to be accredited and professionally certified.
With the advance of many new Digital Technologies in globalization, it has transformed and created many opportunities for us to choose an alternate path to explore in life. It is this lifelong learning journey, which we can embrace and excel in many ways and change us positively.
4 Years ago, I was battling a stage 4 cancer condition. With God’s grace, strong support from my family and encouragement from my employer (Itacho Sushi), I overcame the adversity. It has made me stronger, shaped my thoughts and instilled the can-do spirit in me. I told myself the just like the “Pioneer” and “Merdeka” generation have done it, this personal struggle is temporary, the pain and suffering can be endured, and it will be over soon. There shall not be any retreat, I have to continue this battle and it shall be conquered by the strong iron-will within me.
What we pursue today, was decided based on the choices we have made, with the chances that were given yesterday. We have taken this path and taken a courageous step forward to find time despite our busy working schedule, and today we have achieved it! This quest for knowledge has determined what we want to do in the next phase of our career progression. SIPMM has made us more professionally competent in the industries we work in.
I look forward with great enthusiasm whenever there is a class because new knowledge to be learnt and shared. This is the positivity that SIPMM has given me and today I am proud to be graduate of SIPMM.
In this learning journey, I would like to express my utmost gratitude to Professor Poh. Like a mentor, he has inspired us and made us realize our full potential and capabilities, pushed the boundaries of possibilities further, helped us overcome any self-doubts and made a huge difference to many of us. He has helped us make a positive impact to the organization we serve and add value to the company we work in.
I would also like to thank all the lecturers and I hope we have made you proud today! To all my fellow graduates who have finished their respective diploma courses, this is a great day of accomplishment!
