Good afternoon,
My name is Anna Lee Chen Ern, and I am deeply honored and humbled to stand before you today as the representative of the Diploma in Procurement and Supply Management cohort. The potential we’ve unlocked, the progress we’ve achieved, and the persistence we’ve carried through has earned us this moment. Today, is the celebration of changemakers that ready to shape tomorrow.
Numerous individuals in our group are adult learners and working parents, let me just say, this journey has been anything but easy. There were countless nights that began with addressing assignments only after finishing household chores and settling the child to sleep. We dedicated weekends meant for rest to revision and exchanged leisure for learning. It sometimes felt like balancing on a unicycle against the wind. Yet, every trial we endured transformed this victory into something truly special.
And here’s the truth, none of us got here alone.
First and foremost, I would like to express my utmost gratitude to Professor Philip Poh, your passion for this field and your belief in our potential truly lit the path forward. Even when we doubted ourselves, you reminded us “don’t ever underestimate yourself!” Your leadership has left a lasting impact on how we see not only procurement and supply chain, but also our own ability to grow and lead.
I wish to convey my great appreciation to my course instructor Mr. Alex Loo, thank you for making Warehouse Management unforgettably fun. Who knew racks, pallets, and picking methods could be so entertaining? Your energy, humor, and yes, those legendary punchlines turned a complex topic into one we looked forward to. I’m so grateful to have Mr. David Wong as our Purchasing course instructor, your practical experience and industry insights made Purchasing Management come alive. You went beyond theory, guiding us to apply our knowledge effectively and create value as true professionals in procurement.
I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks for my mentors at Weng Guan Technology Pte Ltd, Mr. Ng Tian Fah, Mr. Steven Lim Kee Thuan, Mr. Joshua Ng Choon Wee, and Mr. Bryan Ng Choon Tat, thank you for your guidance and support throughout this journey. To my incredible teammate, Mr. Chang Yang Yang, your positivity and encouragement made the toughest days easier, especially during the more challenging weeks.
Of course, I never forget my amazing course mates! We came from different backgrounds, from plastics to biotech, logistics to F&B. There were days filled with laughter and late nights stress that tested our limits. We lifted each other up through encouraged and believed in one another, which made our learning journey more memorable.
Finally, to my family, I appreciate your patience, and love kept me motivated. Thanks for always be the first ones to feel joy in my accomplishments!
Dear fellow graduands, as we step forward from SIPMM, we are ready to boldly open the blind box in our life! I have always inspired by the firefly, which keeps its light flash even in the darkest night. When many fireflies come together, their light becomes a Christmas tree in a forest night. May we do the same, continuing to shine with curiosity, positivity and courage no matter what lies ahead.
Happy Graduation!
Thank you.
